About Us

Toby Turner, Cash Turner, and Heather TurnerHello my name is Toby Turner. I want to thank you for visiting our site and also tell you a little about ourselves. My wife, Heather, and I have been operating Turner's Arena and Stables since 2003. Prior to moving to Bloomington, Indiana I was a Professional Rodeo Cowboy riding bulls and saddle bronc horses. During this time Heather and I also operated a commercial cow/calf operation in Caneyville, Kentucky. Purchased in 1996, this ranch started as one old house in the middle of 250 acres, no fence, no barns, and no water. With Heather fulltime at the ranch and me putting in long hours in between rodeos and bull ridings, we were up and running 100 head of momma cows in less than 24 months.

My rodeo background led us into the bucking bull industry. The bucking bull business let us see the full potential of the need for services in the livestock caring/boarding business. I have been involved in 4H, showing and running barrel horses before I could reach the stirrups. I have also been breaking, training, and riding saddle bronc horses since I was 12 years old. I was raised on a farm and Heather and I built another. We have been working the ranch horseback and raising foals, breaking and training colts. Our true passion has been working with horses for over 30 years.

In 2003, we had a once in a lifetime chance to own and operate this superior equine facility. We started with just one boarder.  We knew if we could offer the same passion and care we have for our own horses and facilities, a clean family environment, we couldn’t help but attract some clients. We have been truly blessed with the response to our hard work and continued improvement to the facilities. To say the venture has been challenging is an understatement but to say it has been successful is also an understatement. We couldn’t be happier with where we are at today.

Toby "Cash" Turner - Christmas 2009 - Leaning up against horse stallIn 2004, our son Toby "Cash" Turner was born. When he grows up he says he "just wants to help Dad". He also wants to be a rodeo cowboy, a demo derby car builder, and a monster truck driver. He enjoys school, soccer, riding his pony Sling Shot and visiting his friends at the barn. Heather and I enjoy being at the barn, spending time with Cash, trail riding, fishing or anything outside. We enjoy working, caring for the horses, and visiting with our clients. We are highly involved in the day to day operations of Turner's Arena and Stables and pride ourselves in our work.

We are still improving and working hard EVERYDAY, determined to provide the best facilities and best care we possibly can.  It has been said “no one will take care of your animals as well as you”. Our intention is to prove that theory wrong!  Word of mouth advertising is very powerful. I feel we have developed our business this way with a solid reputation built on high character, superior care, in high quality, clean facilities

Oh yeah, I know your wondering about that one boarder we started with back in 2003? HE IS STILL HERE!

EVERY MORNING IN AFRICA,
A GAZELLE WAKES UP.
IT KNOWS THAT IT MUST RUN FASTER
THAN THE FASTEST LION OR
IT WILL BE KILLED.

EVERY MORNING A LION WAKES UP AND KNOWS THAT IT MUST OUTRUN THE SLOWEST GAZELLE OR
IT WILL STARVE TO DEATH.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE A LION
OR A GAZELLE:

WHEN THE SUN COMES UP YOU HAD BETTER BE RUNNING!
